Phase 1: Fear and terror
Every year, medicine discovers new pathogens. Viruses in particular mutate frequently, thereby improving their chances of success. The range of possible "threats" to humans is large. As we have seen, it does not take a pandemic to declare a pandemic. In SARS 2003, there were a total of 774 deaths worldwide, which was about 0.00001% of the world's population.420 When the WHO declared the swine flu pandemic in May 2009, the virus was almost only present in Mexico with 97 deaths.421 That is sad, but not a pandemic. At Covid19, the numbers were far below those of the usual flu waves when it was once again "Pandemic Day" at the WHO headquarter on 11 March 2020.
Seen in this light, one could have chosen any virus for any pandemic every year. Note: Flu epidemics do not become "pandemics" through particularly high mortality rates, such as in 2017/18, but through consistent PR, i.e. media relations. And this has been developed to perfection in 2020.
I have already reported on the method of working with images, such as coffins in Italy and mass graves in New York. In addition, there were daily news reports with pictures of intensive care patients on tubes, some staff in protective suits, crying and desperate relatives. Fearful, worried people were interviewed, and their fear was transmitted to the viewer. The presenters all made worried faces and demanded in a warning tone not to underestimate the danger. And all this in a continuous stream. Many couldn't stand it anymore and switched the TV off â and then on again, because they wanted to be "informed", i.e. âformed: brought into shape" â language is revealing.
In addition to the exaggerated case and death figures, which I have already explained at length, selected "experts" threw around completely exaggerated "estimates" that were meant to frighten, even if none of them materialised later. Hardly anyone remembers the 278,000 corona deaths that Drosten predicted for Germany as recently as spring.422 If anyone does remember, they say we owe it to the government's tough measures that we were spared that. But the case numbers in Sweden, Iceland and Belarus, which had no lockdown or mask requirement, prove otherwise. They are far below the figures for Spain, Italy and France, the countries with the toughest measures. And I have already presented the studies on the futility of the measures above.
It would be bad enough if people only believed the statistics. But it is much worse: the hysteria orchestrated by the media has multiplied the numbers in people's minds. A survey by an opinion research institute in five countries asked people what they thought the number of people infected with Covid was in their country.423 The results were shocking when compared to the (already too high) official figures:
⢠The British estimated four times the number of infected people
⢠The Swedes and US Americans estimate 20 times the official number
⢠The Germans and French estimated the 46-fold
Then they asked about the estimated death toll. Here the
